Our Story
James Hobart, Founder
“Whilst working at the homeless charity Crisis, I have met many people with heartbreaking stories of abuse, neglect and hardship.
Zev travelled to the UK to find work and provide a better life for his family in Sri Lanka. He was detained in Belgium but managed to escape and finally make it to the UK. With no home and no one to turn to, the brutality of homelessness hit hard.
His luck changed when a good Samaritan gave him a place to stay. With a home, he managed to get a job, bringing hope for him and his family.
Sadly, a few months later, his good Samaritan died and he no longer had a home. Back on the streets, depression and alcoholism took over. He lost his job, his dignity and the ability to provide for his family.
Crisis at Christmas helped Zev to write new chapters in his life, giving support, shelter and hope for the future. This story inspired FarCry’s purpose; to pursue a passion for helping others.
In 2019 FarCry was born, a creative collective that uses design and technology to explore the unconventional; empowering businesses, organisations and communities.”
